Actions

At the Heart of our rifles is a complete custom Jense Precision action that has been custom designed and built by Glen Harrison of Defiance machine. The actions are available in almost any configuration you can come up with.  All the receivers are based on the Remington 700 footprint, but that's where the similarities end.  As for the bolts, we offer the option of a one-piece solid bolt from Defiance or a custom fit PTG bolt made to your specs.  Both have the option of Sako, M16 or standard extraction systems.

When it comes to designing  and building actions, there is no one better than Glen Harrison.  Glen was founder of Nesika Bay, and from there he went to Dakota Arms.  Since then, Glen has taken his ideas to a custom shop by the name of Defiance Machine where he is the brains behind the precision.  Defiance already supplies some of the best rifle builders in the country with their actions.   As Glen says on his website, "To make the best requires the best," and Defiance has in its shop a Kitamura Mycenter-4Xi. This 5-axis CNC center represents top-shelf, state of the art equipment featuring chilled, solid-box guide ways and Cat-50 spindle. The Fanuc Series 16i-M controller offers unlimited math functions and the factory installed 60 tool automatic changer puts those programs to effective use.  We use only the best products and techniques available, and that's what Glen's actions provide.  His machine is overkill for building rifle actions, but why not use the best?  Please take a few minutes to look at Glen's work in my links page.

Notice the recoil lug is double pinned to the receiver and it also locks into the one piece scope rail.

Heavy target tang for extra strength

We will also use a Remington 700 that you provide or we can provide one for you.  When we blue print a receiver we do the complete job, not part of it.  We start by boring the race way to have a center line to start from.  After that the bolt lugs, receiver face and threads are cut perpendicular to the race way.  Or, you can just start with a new custom action that only costs $150 more than having a blue printed Remington.
